Blood Red Shoes - "This is not for You" Music Video Sonic Films worked on this music video "This is not for You" for the band Blood Red Shoes (Laura-Mary Carter (guitar / vocals) and Steven Ansell (drums / vocals). Sonic supplied camera equipment along with on set camera technician to provide assistance throughout as well as a preliminary grade whilst shooting. A range of frame rates from 25fps to 120fps were used and the video was shot black and white using a monochrome colour setting for on set monitoring (The captured colourspace was still RAW and not monochrome). The video was directed and later edited by Tim Mattia using Final Cut Pro. Sonic Films then used the EDL to conform to the original footage. We then graded the piece using our dedicated DI system. Many of the shots used natural (and often low) light due to the heavy schedule of shooting at various points of the location. Scratch and the RAW footage allowed us to pull out detail in the darks that would have otherwise been lost or unusable. This tapeless workflow allowed the production to save both time and money without compromising quality.
